NEW YORK, March 8 (UPI) -- U.S. pop singer Justin Timberlake says he will be the executive producer for a new NBC comedy, "My Problem with Women."

The Hollywood Reporter said the U.S. adaptation of a popular Peruvian TV series would mark Timberlake's first executive-producing effort for a scripted series.

The "SexyBack" singer said he was looking forward to working with Reveille Productions for the series, which follows a bachelor attempting to understand his failed romantic life with the help of a therapist.

"I am very excited to be collaborating with Reveille to bring this hugely successful format to NBC," Timberlake said.

Meanwhile, Reveille's Howard T. Owens told the Reporter the U.S. adaption of "Mi Problema" should appeal to a wide-ranging audience.

"It looked incredible; the production values and the caliber of the acting and writing were eye-popping," Owens said of the original TV comedy. "It's also very insightful and thought-provoking. As the world is getting smaller in the digital age, its comedy and the social themes, like battle of the sexes, not only resonate in Lima, Peru, but also in New York City."
