FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 7 (UPI) -- Hollywood actors Owen Wilson and Eric Dane reportedly took a tour of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Fort Lauderdale office Friday.

The actors are starring in the film adaptation of the memoir "Marley & Me," which was written by Sun-Sentinel columnist John Grogan.

The story is about a couple who adopt a yellow Labrador retriever to see how they might do as parents before they start having children, and then get more than they bargained for when the dog, Marley, proves to be an uncontrollable force.

Wilson and Dane spent about an hour talking to editor Earl Maucker and walking around the Sun-Sentinel office, trailed by their crew, People.com said.

"They were charming," a female reporter told the magazine. "I swooned a bit. Owen was very sweet. They certainly created a lot of hubbub and excitement."

The newspaper's writing staff was invited to apply to be extras in the movie, which is shooting in Miami and co-stars Jennifer Aniston.
