'Guru' unveils new side of Timberlake

HOLLYWOOD, March 1 (UPI) -- Pop singer Justin Timberlake apparently will show off his comedic abilities in the new Hollywood movie "The Love Guru," it was reported.

In the new trailer for the upcoming comedy, Timberlake can be seen wearing nothing but a Speedo bathing suit and speaking in an exaggerated French accent, People magazine reported Friday.

The Grammy Award-winning singer plays Los Angeles Kings hockey star Jacques Grande, who is part of a love triangle the movie's star, Michael Myers, must untangle.

The comedy also stars Jessica Alba, along with Verne Troyer, Romany Malco and Ben Kingsley.

People magazine said Timberlake's previous film credits include roles in more dramatic fare such as "Alpha Dog," "Southland Tales" and "Black Snake Moan."

Poetry finds new life on 'Million's Poet'

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, March 1 (UPI) -- The art of Nabati poetry in the Middle East has found new life thanks to the hit TV series "Million's Poet," which is watched by 70 million viewers.

"Poet" finals contestant Mahdi al-Wayli said the new series has found success reintroducing poetry to the Arab world, The Times of London reported Saturday.

"I thought nobody cared about poetry, but this show changed everything. It made people think about poets more than football," the 33-year-old electrician said.

In an audition format similar to that of the equally popular U.S. TV series "American Idol," "Poet" allowed nearly 7,000 people to audition for a spot in the literary competition. Of those, 48 contestants were picked to have a shot at the show's top prize of more than $275,000.

The Times said while five judges rate each contestant according to preset criteria, the TV competition's viewers pick the final winner through a text-messaging system.

Miller, Moss reunite for fundraiser

LONDON, March 1 (UPI) -- British supermodel Kate Moss and model-turned-actress Sienna Miller have put aside their differences to raise cancer research money in London.

The Daily Mail said Saturday the two celebrities were on hand to help fashion designer James Brown, who was selling celebrity-owned fashion merchandise to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The British newspaper said during Friday's event, both Moss and Miller appeared to have temporarily put aside their differences to support the man who keeps them fashionable.

The pair became estranged after Miller started dating actor Jude Law, who had just left his wife, Sadie Frost. Frost and Moss are close friends and the new relationship reportedly caused a rift between the two models.

The Mail reported a source said that rift eventually caused a public argument between the two women at a wedding reception.

"Kate had a go at Sienna and accused her of stealing her style," the unidentified source said. "She was ranting on about how Sienna was now trying to steal her lifestyle and her friends too."

Debbie Harry's trademark hair going gray

NEW YORK, March 1 (UPI) -- U.S. singer Debbie Harry, whose blond hair was the trademark of her disco-era band Blondie, is starting to show her age by revealing her graying hair.

The singer showed off her natural hair color at a recent Broadway performance of the musical "Passing Strange," along with a much fuller face than fans of the 1970s and '80s band remember, the Daily Mail reported.

Despite the apparent effects of aging on the 62-year-old, the British newspaper said her fashion sense has not diminished. While Harry did not attend the New York event wearing one of the provocative outfits that earned her notoriety during the rise of her musical career, the Mail said she was fashionable in a monochrome ensemble.

Harry still enjoys a moderately successful solo music career and has toured with several bands since her success with Blondie.
