LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Madonna and Hollywood actress Demi Moore reportedly are planning a last-minute Oscar party to replace the one canceled by Vanity Fair.

Vanity Fair announced earlier this month it would not hold its traditional post-awards presentation bash because, at the time, the Writers Guild of America strike was still going on, and many stars said they wouldn't attend the ceremony.

However, the strike has since ended and Variety.com said Madonna and Moore are planning a party that could fill the void left by Vanity Fair.

Variety.com said only a few hundred people, mainly stars, are invited to the Madonna/Moore soiree.

"It gives the A-list Vanity Fair crowd someplace to go to," a source told the trade paper. "(The guest list) will probably be pared down to where it's 85 percent talent, not a lot of suits."

People.com cited its own source as saying the party will probably be at the home of Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary.
