The 60th WGA Awards ceremony was not held as planned, because of the guild's strike against TV and film production companies.
In a release, the WGA said Joel and Ethan Coen's adaptation of novelist Cormac McCarthy's "No Country for Old Men" was the top adapted screenplay and Diablo Cody's "Juno" won for best original screenplay.
Both screenplays are nominated for Academy Awards.
Alex Gibney won the documentary prize for "Taxi to the Dark Side," an examination of the controversy surrounding the use of torture in the war on terror.
In the TV categories, the WGA honored "The Wire," "30 Rock," "Mad Men" and "The Office." Awards were also given to the Hallmark Channel's "Pandemic" and TNT's "The Company."
"The Simpsons" was honored in the animation category and Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" won for best comedy/variety series.
"The Young & The Restless" won for best daytime serial.
