Lohan's attorney Blair Berk said that following the filmed incident at a New Year's Eve party in the city of Capri, the popular-yet-troubled actress made amends, the BBC reported Saturday.
"Lindsay immediately stopped, called her sponsor, and got herself back on track," Berk said.
Berk added that the incident only marked a minor slip in the 21-year-old actress's rehabilitation, though it was shared with the rest of the world.
"There is no magic cure here. Unfortunately, Lindsay has to share her 'one day at a time' with the entire world," her attorney said.
Lohan spent time in a rehabilitation clinic in the United States after publicly admitting to having a problem with alcohol and drugs.
The BBC said Lohan also was previously ordered to complete an alcohol education program after pleading guilty to cocaine possession and drunken driving.
