"If the Globes is telecast and it is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is a struck company, we will picket the show," said strike coordinator Jeff Hermanson.
The ceremony honoring the year's best in film and television is slated to be produced by Dick Clark Productions and aired by NBC Jan. 13.
The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) said celebrities have indicated to Hollywood publicity executives they will stay away from the show if striking writers are picketing outside of it.
A source told the Times NBC still plans to telecast the gala but the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hands out the Golden Globe awards, is said to be considering broadcasting the show on the Internet or making the ceremony a private event.
Hermanson said the writers would picket the show if Dick Clark produced it for the Internet, but not if the ceremony was a live event with no broadcast or Web cast.
Representatives for NBC and Dick Clark Productions declined to comment, while the HFPA did not respond to queries, the Times said.
