ROME, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The Rome Film Festival has named director Jason Reitman's coming of age drama, "Juno," as this year's recipient of its best film award

Euronews.net said Sunday that the Canadian-born director's film was named as the festival's top offering for its tale of a U.S. teenager who is forced to find adoptive parents for her unborn child.

For her role in the dramatic period piece, "And the Spring Comes," Chinese actress Jang Wenli took home the festival's best actress award.

In the film, that is based in a period following China's Cultural Revolution, Wenli stars as a singer whose goal is to one day perform in the Beijing Opera.

Actor Rade Serbedzija was also recognized for his work in the Canadian-Greek film "Fugitive Pieces," Euronews.net reported.

In the film, Serbedzija plays an archaeologist who saves the life of a Jewish boy, whose parents both died in Poland during World War II.
