LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is set to star in the new Hollywood film, "The Zebra Murders: A Season of Killing, Racial Madness, and Civil Rights."

The film will reunite Foxx with "The Kingdom" scribe Matthew Michael Carnahan, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Foxx, who is best-known for his performances in "Ray" and "Dreamgirls," will play Prentice Earl Sanders, one of two black detectives determined to crack a series of racially motivated serial killings in 1973-74 San Francisco, the trade paper reported.

Sanders becomes chief of police after the detectives successfully win their own battle against racism within the department.
