The rattles, made by Manhattan Group LLC of Minneapolis, have blue plastic end-caps that can break into small pieces, which could choke an infant, a CPSC statement said.
No injuries have been reported, but 7,000 of the 5-inch-long rattles were sold from September 2007 through April 2008 for about $15.
The rattle is clear plastic with blue end-caps and features two clear handles with colorful beads inside and colorful rings outside.
Consumers were advised to take the rattles from infants and return them to stores for a refund or contact Manhattan Group for an exchange.
Consumers can also call Manhattan Group at 800-541-1345 for more information.
