CHICAGO, April 15 (UPI) -- Trading was higher on the Chicago Board of Trade for domestic grains, as yet untouched by announced bans of Kazakhstan wheat and Indonesia rice exports.

The bans were announced to combat rising food costs.

Corn was up 12 to up 14 3/4; soybeans were up 7 1/2 to up 13 12; wheat was off 1/4 to up 1; oats were up 7 to up 8.

Corn traded higher as traders kept an eye on corn planting weather and bio-fuel critics have begun to complain about diverting corn to non-food uses. Wheat broke late on improved weather in the hard red crop. Soybeans rode higher on news that China and India would soon be buying soy oil.

The prices:

Corn: May 6.06. up 14 1/4; Jul 6.19 1/2, up 14 3/4; Sep 6.26 1/2, up 14 1/4; Dec 6.25 1/4, up 12.

Soybeans: May 13.80, up 7 1/2; Jul 13.97, up 7 3/4; Aug 13.85, up 7 3/4, Sep 13.49, up 13 1/2.

Wheat: May 8.95 3/4, off 1/4; Jul 9.10 1/2, unchanged; Sep 9.24 1/2, up 1/2; Dec 9.40, up 1.

Oats: May 3.93, up 7; Jul 4.03 1/2, up 7; Sep 4.15, up 7; Dec 4.29, up 8.
