CINCINNATI, March 26 (UPI) -- Cincinnati has set the "living wage" for full-time city employees at $9.23 per hour beginning April 30, The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
That's a bump up from $9.14 per hour for employees who get healthcare benefits. For those who don't have health insurance, the hourly rate will go from $10.70 to $10.80, the newspaper said.
The "living wage" rule also applies to full- and part-time employees of city contractors and subcontractors doing jobs valued at $20,000 or more.
The rate, which is set annually according to the percentage increase in the federal poverty guidelines, compares to the federal minimum wage of $5.85 per hour.
