Chinese-made ring toss game recalled

WASHINGTON, March 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of a ring toss game distributed by Educational Insights of Vernon Hills, Ill.
The CPSC said the company initiated the voluntary recall of the Chinese-manufactured game because the paint on the yellow peg of the toy contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.
The recalled ring toss game has three plastic blue rings and five 4-inch wooden pegs. Four of the five pegs are purple and one is yellow. The base of the game is made of two red wooden boards that form an "X" when assembled.
The game was sold nationwide from December 2007 through February 2008 for about $30.
Consumers can return the game for a store credit or refund and can contact the company at 888-591-9334 for additional information.
