CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., March 24 (UPI) -- Las Vegas Casino Lines said Monday the Liquid Vegas, a cruise ship berthed at Cape Canaveral, Fla., will be ready for high seas and high stakes in April.

The ship, with an 800-passenger capacity, will include catering, sports broadcasts, blackjack, baccarat and 500 smart card slot machines, Florida Today reported.

The company also plans to hire 250 people from the area, the report said.

"These are local tourism guys who have experience and the willingness to try something new to boost the economy," said Rob Varley, executive director of the Space Coast Office of Tourism.

Much of the terminal at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral will also be transformed to include space for conventions and indoor and outdoor events.

It "will be a great addition to our entertainment portfolio" in Brevard County, Fla., Varley told Florida Today.
