NBA: Magic extend qualifying offers to Fournier, Dedmon

The Orlando Magic extended qualifying offers to guard/forward Evan Fournier and center Dewayne Dedmon on Wednesday.

By extending the qualifying offers prior to the June 30 deadline, the Magic own the right to match any offer sheet Fournier and Dedmon may sign with another team. Both players will become restricted free agents on Friday.

The 6-foot-7, 205-pound Fournier, 23, appeared in 79 games (71 starts) with Orlando last season, averaging a career-high 15.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.22 steals in 32.5 minutes per game, while shooting a team-high .400 (156-for-390) from 3-point range and a team-high .836 from the free-throw line.

Fournier, originally selected by Denver in the first round (20th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft, has appeared in 251 career regular-season games (111 starts) with the Nuggets and Magic, averaging 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He was acquired from Denver on June 26, 2014.

The 7-0, 245-pound Dedmon, 26, played in 58 games (20 starts) with Orlando last season, averaging 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game.

Dedmon, undrafted by an NBA team, has appeared in 148 career regular-season games (41 starts) with Golden State, Philadelphia and Orlando, averaging 3.8 points and 4.4 rebounds.
