AUSTIN, Texas, May 21 (UPI) -- Pivot3 Inc. has partnered with ACG-Security on a contract with the U.S. Army to provide a data storage solution for the Bazaar rapid equipping force project.
The Army contracted ACG to make improvements on the Bazaar system, a technology deployed in 2007 for detection of improvised explosive devices in Iraq. The Bazaar system collects 360 degrees of video data recording the Army vehicle's surroundings in the field. The large amount of data collected is later used in planning operations.
ACG partnered with Pivot3 for the company's clustered storage array data storage technologies. The partnership is an effort to increase the capabilities of an Army unit's situational awareness during combat.
"Rapid deployment and field-flexibility are key requirements that the Pivot3 clustered storage brings to the project," Fred Kleibacker, ACG-Security chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"Remembering where this is deployed, we needed a solution that was failure-resistant and would allow them to scale as their data needs grow. Because of its focus on video surveillance, the flexibility of its products, and how easily changes are implemented, Pivot3 met these requirements, and we are excited to work together on this project."
