SUFFERN, N.Y., May 7 (UPI) -- New York-based On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. says it has formed an alliance with Splinternet Holdings Inc. (OTCBB:SLNH) to integrate their threat detection offerings.

The alliance interfaces Splinternet's trademarked DefenTect radiation detection technology with OnSSI's Internet Protocol video surveillance and its newly released Ocularis video surveillance technologies. Officials say with the joint offering, Splinternet and OnSSI are positioning themselves to better reach the government and homeland security market.

Splinternet's GammaTect is capable of alerting security authorities of the presence of threat-level radioactive materials like those used in dirty bombs. OnSSI's IP-based video surveillance software offers enhanced control and management for large-scale security applications.

"OnSSI and Splinternet are dedicated to developing integrated protection systems to safeguard customers," James Ackerly, Splinternet chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We're excited to work together with OnSSI to add detection of illegal transport of radiological source material to security solutions."
