CLEVELAND, May 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department's recent contract for Osprey tiltrotor aircrafts will result in an estimated $120 million in revenue for supplier Eaton Corp. (NYSE:ETN)

The Department of Defense announced a contract with the Bell Boeing joint venture for 167 V-22 Osprey tiltrotor additional aircrafts. As a result of the multiyear deal, Bell Boeing parts supplier Eaton says it will earn an estimated $120 million.

Bell Boeing is an alliance between Bell Helicopter and Boeing for the design and manufacturing of the tiltrotor aircraft that combines horizontal flight capabilities with its fixed-wing design along with helicopter-style vertical lift. Eaton supplies the hydraulic power generation and motion-control system among other technologies for the program.

Officials say the Defense Department decision brings the total number of Osprey aircrafts under the contract to 458 at a cost of $54 billion. Eaton officials estimate their total revenues for the program is $320 million.

"Eaton continues to be a proud key supplier for the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey," Bradley Morton, Eaton aerospace business president, said in a statement.
