Defense Industries, based in Israel, was awarded a $4.5 million contract to supply the Israeli military with its bulletproof and tactical vest technologies. Defense Industries is a developer of protective equipment and supplies including body armor, bomb disposal suits and bullet-resistant vests among other offerings, for both military and civilian uses.

"We are extremely pleased with these significant orders," Joseph Fostbinder, Defense Industries chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We are continuing to witness increased demand for personal military protective equipment from the Israeli Ministry of Defense, which demonstrates their confidence in our products as well as in our ability to deliver our products in a timely manner."

Company officials say they will deliver half of the bulletproof and tactical vests order before the end of 2008.
