Emrise to support Black Hawk helicopters

Published: March 26, 2008 at 8:24 PM
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., March 26 (UPI) -- Emrise Corp. says it has received an order for its power supplies technology from the U.S. Army for use in UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.

Officials say the helicopter power supplies order for approximately $200,000 will be provided by Emrise subsidiary RO Associates Inc., based in California. ROA, which specializes in power supply components for the U.S. military and aerospace markets, says the Army order will be shipped by June.

"We are very pleased to be awarded this new order for the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter," Emrise President and Chief Executive Carmine Oliva said in a statement. "We expect to capture further business on this and other Black Hawk-related programs in the future and view this order as an important strategic win for Emrise. Because of the combined technology and capability of our multi-national group of power supply companies we are now beginning to realize potential for deeper penetration into U.S., European and Asian markets for all Emrise products."

ROA officials say the Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter order is in line with the company's realigned focus to market power supply products to aerospace and military programs for hostile environments.
