ANDOVER, Mass., March 24 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center announced it has contracted Dynamics Research Corp. (NASDAQ:DRCO) for human patient simulation training.

Massachusetts-based DRC, a military and medical simulation training company, was awarded the $849,000 contract by the Army TATRC to support human patient simulation training for U.S. Army Reserve medical units for one year. Officials say the simulation training will take place at the Ohio-based Center for Medical Education and Innovation at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Company officials say the multimedia instruction with Web-based distance learning offers the Fort Detrick, Md.-based Army TATRC, interactive training to support mission-critical government demands on Reserve medical units.

"As a proven leader in providing high performance team training services, DRC understands that the consequences of ineffective team performance in high- stress, high-stakes environments can be loss of life," James Regan, DRC chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"DRC is pleased to have the opportunity to extend our unique expertise in military and medical simulation training to support the U.S. Army TATRC's critical mission of improving healthcare for the warfighter on the frontline."
