Its subsidiary, Vestas Mediterranean, will supply and commission 34 V52-850 kilowatt wind turbines for the Anemos-Florina project in Greece. The contract also includes a five-year service and maintenance agreement, the firm announced.
The Anemos-Florina project will be built near Florina in northern Greece and is expected to be complete by September 2009.
"With this order, we are further developing Vestas' existing business relationship with REnInvest in Greece and in other European countries," said Ali Sarigoz, general manager of Vestas Hellas SA.
The financial value of the order was not disclosed, but Vestas Wind Systems, headquartered in Randers, Denmark, is the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer with 35,000 wind turbines installed worldwide.
