Russian troops close Georgian oil port
The newspaper said plans by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power to build unit three and four of Kori Nuclear Power Plant were approved by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy.
Nuclear accounts for some 40 percent of South Korea’s energy mix.
The units will use locally designed APR1400 light-weight reactors, which will have a capacity of 1,400 megawatts. The country currently uses OPR1000 reactors.
Work is expected to start this month at Kori; unit three is expected to be complete by 2013 and unit four by 2014, the newspaper said.
