Brig. Gen. Jeffery Dorko, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in southern Iraq, said senior Iraqi engineers briefed his team for more than two hours.
The Iraqi and U.S. engineers toured a recently renovated healthcare facility in Wassit province prior to the briefing.
U.S. engineers said the reconstruction of the primary healthcare center in the province brought much-needed care to more than 200 people every day.
The delegation also toured the ongoing construction of a $600,000 water plant south of the provincial capital of Kut and received a briefing from Iraqi engineers working on site.
Army engineer Col. Steve Hill said the work of the Iraq engineers in Wassit province was a "model" for ongoing work in other areas of the country.
