West worried Georgia crisis is expanding
Junior Interior Minister V. Radhika Selvi told Parliament Wednesday though violence and militancy has continued in some parts of the country, the overall situation has remained largely in control.
"The government is pursuing a comprehensive policy to deal with terrorism by way of enhanced intelligence sharing, strengthening of border management and augmenting the capabilities of police," she said in a statement.
She said police and security agencies busted several terrorist cells and possible major terrorist plots were averted.
"Institutional arrangements have also be put in place so that sharing and analysis of information can be done on a continuing basis in a systematic and coordinated manner," Selvi said.
