NEW DELHI, April 4 (UPI) -- India said terrorists and drug syndicates are now using Internet chat rooms and e-payment for money exchange.
Enforcement agencies said they are spending more time searching the World Wide Web, as terrorists and drug syndicates are increasingly using encrypted chat rooms and e-payment gateways to transfer key documents and carry out large money transactions, The Times of India newspaper reported Friday.
The agencies recently busted a drug case in Delhi and found out the syndicate was using Skype, an encrypted forum difficult for intelligence agencies to crack, to transfer documents. Transfer of files over Skype are encrypted end-to-end and protect privacy while transferring information, said a senior official of Intelligence Bureau.
