SYRACUSE, N.Y., March 24 (UPI) --
The Transportation Security Administration announced the appointment of a new head of federal security at New York's Syracuse Hancock International Airport.
TSA officials say Daniel Liddell has been named the new federal security director. Liddell, who has held the acting FSD position since November 2007, will oversee all TSA operations at Syracuse Hancock along with operations at New York's "Binghamton, Ithaca, Watertown, Ogdensburg, Massena and Rome airports," the TSA reported.
A 22-year Marine Corps veteran, Liddell has worked for the past five years at the TSA serving as the assistant FSD at Syracuse Hancock along with playing an integral role in the creation of the operations center at the airport.
"Daniel's track record indicates that he will provide excellent leadership as the FSD," Mo McGowan, TSA security operations assistant administrator, said in a statement.© 2008 United Press International. All Rights Reserved.
