5G supplies Asia wireless provider Crofos

LOS ANGELES, June 7 (UPI) -- South Korea's Crofos Networks signed an agreement Wednesday with U.S.-based 5G Wireless for wireless communications equipment for its Asia markets.

5G said in a news release that Crofos would be using the microcells and base stations to supply a full range of broadband services for residential and business clients in South Korea, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan.

The agreement gives 5G Value Added Reseller status in the markets, particularly in South Korea where 5G has its eye on the expected next wave of wireless growth.

"With the development of the 'new Internet,' (IPv6) initiative, there is a need for a reliable broadband wireless connection now more than ever," said 5G Vice President Benjamin Di Lello.

Crofos is currently testing 5G's wireless and access point hardware at its facility in South Korea.
