BEIJING, May 30 (UPI) -- Chinese technicians expect to launch a satellite communications system for Iran's national oil company later this summer.
The China Daily said Wednesday the equipment needed for the VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) project was in Iran and would be used to provide voice, data and video communications along oil pipelines in 15 provinces.

Meanwhile, the Chinese consortium is in talks with Iranian officials about setting up another VSAT system along Iran's natural-gas pipelines.
