"The expectations are for significant growth in the coming years. I hope to contribute my experience to the success of Supercom as they move to the next level," Shalom said, according to the statement.

Shalom has 15 years of financial-management experience, having logged time as the CFO of BigBand Networks and as a senior accountant for Kesselman & Kesselman PwC, the statement said.

"Yaron brings rich experience with him, and I welcome his (appointment) as CFO," Supercom Chief Executive Officer Eyal Tuchman said via the statement.

Tuchman himself is new to the company: He was named CEO just over two months ago.

Supercom operates in three main markets, Tuchman told United Press International when he was appointed. Its business core is the design of Smart Card systems for national documents such as passports, government IDs and driver's licenses, which the company sells in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Eastern Europe and Israel.
