Logix opens Israeli distribution center

TEL AVIV, Israel, May 23 (UPI) -- The largest French software distributor has opened an Israeli distribution branch, the Israeli business newspaper Globes reported Tuesday.

"We found a good platform in the local market with a strong presence in security product distribution," Logix Chief Executive Officer Laurent Sadoun told the newspaper during a trip to Israel this week.

"We aim to increase our product range, mainly in communications, and integrated data, voice and video products. Israel is also a good platform from which to expand into Greece, Turkey, and possibly other countries too," Sadoun continued.

The company bought Israeli Renaissance Electronics Ltd. in January, and Sadoun attributed Logix's decision to set up a distribution center here to Israel's large number of telecommunications, security and support service start-up companies, according to the report.

"We can offer local start-ups our services and use our distribution channels in Europe to distribute their products," Sadoun said via the report.

The company's Israeli sales support team will initially be comprised of 20 people, Sadoun told the newspaper, and the number will later be increased to 50.
