Ericsson wins Estonia Elion contract

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 22 (UPI) -- Ericsson will help Estonian broadband company Elion provide multimedia services.

The Swedish group said its Internet protocol multimedia subsystem will allow users to get Internet phone links as well as video phone, instant messaging, and other services.

Valdur Laid, chief executive of Elion, said in a news release that "we believe Ericsson's extensive experience in the area of IMS enables us to utilize this state-of-art solution to its full potential. Ericsson IMS simplifies the creation and delivery of new services, allowing us to improve time-to-market of new, advanced offerings."

"This contract is more proof of our technology and architectural leadership. To date, Ericsson leads the market with 19 IMS system contracts for commercial launch and another 40 trials, distributed across the world," said Ericsson's Estonia president Veiko Sepp.
