Samsung launches HSDPA mobiles on market

SEOUL, May 18 (UPI) -- South Korea's Samsung earlier this week launched a high-speed downlink packet access phone.

This is the first HSDPA mobile commercially available to the public in cooperation with SK Telecom.

According to Samsung, the slide-up SCH-W200 can transmit audio and video data at speeds of 1.8Mbps, allowing users to use high-quality, large-scale multimedia downloads, video phone calls, music and movies.

But the phone is also equipped with a "Dual Band Dual Mode" chip that supports 2G, 3G and 3.5G mobile communication services as well as a high-resolution 2 megapixel camera with auto focus, an MP3 player, text-to-speech conversion, file viewer, and also supports an external memory slot.

Moreover, users can watch mobile TV via Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting.
