IPTV tech co. Kasenna announces new CEO

SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 12 (UPI) -- IPTV technology company Kasenna named Kumar Shah chief executive officer, the Sunnyvale, Calif., company announced Thursday.

Shah will immediately assume CEO duties, while former CEO Mark Gray will continue to serve as chairman of the Kasenna board and in driving strategic partnerships, the company said.

According to Kasenna, a provider of video-on-demand content and MPEG-4 ready IPTV applications over broadband networks, Shah has 20 years of business, marketing and sales-management experience and was recruited from US Venture Partners where he was an entrepreneur-In-residence.

Prior to that, he was involved in several venture-capital funded start-up companies including as president and CEO of Occam Networks as well as acting as chief marketing officer of AccessLan Communications, Kasenna said.

"I am excited about joining Kasenna at this crucial inflection point for Kasenna and for the IPTV market," Shah said. "I am looking forward to leveraging our product and technology leadership into a global leadership position in the IPTV market."
