LISBON, Portugal, May 8 (UPI) -- Lucent Technologies announced Monday it has completed the deployment of a real-time charging solution for mobile messaging for Vodafone Portugal.
According to Lucent, the messing solution enables Vodafone Portugal, the largest operator in the Portuguese market, to manage prepaid customer accounts and track and charge all services in real time. It will also help the operator streamline operations, reduce operating costs and deliver more flexible payment options to subscribers, the company said.
"We wanted our prepaid users to benefit from the same service regardless if they are in Portugal or roaming abroad," said Jorge Bento, Vodafone Portugal's intelligent network & network services director. "Lucent Technologies provided us a convincing technical solution and they integrated it into our network environment within a very short timeframe."
