The suit was filed for violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

AMX claims "that VIG's owners had a contractual obligation to use their best efforts to sell AMX products and to protect AMX valuable trade secrets" and that "VIG was formed for the express purpose of selling products to Crestron Electronics, Inc. and misrepresented its intentions to AMX."

According to AMX, Crestron is a direct competitor with them worldwide.

In addition, AMX alleges that on April 12, 2006, Crestron announced that Cimax and VIG were exclusive partners to sell MDU products.
