FRAMINGHAM, Mass., May 5 (UPI) -- Spending on information technology in the Asia-Pacific region is likely to remain strong over the next 10 years, according to a research group.

Framingham, Mass.-based IDC surveyed 14 countries in the region and said that while India and China are expected to lead the way, other nations will experience greater need for IT in coming years.

"Leading markets such as the People's Republic of China and India will continue to dominate growth prospects as initial IT penetration and infrastructure development continue amid a slow maturing of technology requirements among organizations. Beyond these booming economies, other Association of Southeast Asian Nations geographies are also experiencing strong growth, as demand for services and software solutions continues," said Gary Koch, associate vice president of verticals research at IDC Asia/Pacific.
