BEIJING, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Four people in two Chinese provinces have been confirmed as infected with H7N9 bird flu virus, authorities said.
A 50-year-old poultry breeder in China's Jilin province was confirmed Friday to have the virus by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
The man, surnamed Liang, was in stable condition in hospital.
Three other cases were confirmed Friday in southern China's Guangdong province, Xinhua said.
Among those three was a 64-year-old man from Guangzhou City who died Tuesday.
So far this year, 120 cases of H7N9 have been reported in China. At least 32 deaths have been attributed to the virus.
