WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Most U.S. adults who are currently uninsured will be able to find health insurance for $100 or less per month via the Marketplace, officials say.

A statement by the White House said nearly all eligible uninsured U.S. adults -- about 95 percent -- live in states with average premiums below earlier projections and nearly all consumers -- about 95 percent -- will have a choice of health insurance companies, each of which offers a number of different plans.

For example, a working family making $50,000 a year can get health insurance for less than $100/month, while a single 27-year-old making $25,000 a year could get coverage for an average of $93 a month.

However, the website http://www.whitehouse.gov/healthreform/map? provides more detailed information on choices and premiums expected in 36 states.

The Marketplace, or Exchange, will be run in partnership with states or fully by the Department of Health and Human Services in 36 states. In these states, on average, consumers will have a choice of 53 health plans -- bronze, silver, gold and platinum plans -- and young adults will have the additional option of low-cost catastrophic or youth plans.

Final, complete information about all the plans in each state Marketplace will be available via HealthCare.gov on Oct 1.

For example, the data for Wisconsin includes:

-- The state will offer 97 health insurance plans.

-- The lowest-cost plan premium for a 27-year-old is $189 a month.

-- Lowest-cost plan premium after tax credits for a 27-year-old with an income of $25,000 is $96 a month.

-- Mid-range plan premium for a family of four is $861.

-- Mid-range plan premium after tax credits for a family of four with an income of $50,000 is $282 a month.
