VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 6 (UPI) -- Weekend seminars on aspects of legal medical marijuana in Canada are so popular, the instructor said he's going to open a regular school in Vancouver.

Don Schultz founded Greenline and the www.greenline.com site last year, which have been offering weekend seminars for $330 that some 1,300 people have attended, The (Vancouver) Province reported.

He told the newspaper the seminars cover the legality of medical marijuana, discusses who is eligible to receive it, how to market it, how to find doctors willing to prescribe it and requirements for growing legal marijuana.

Schultz stressed there was no marijuana use during the seminar.

"They are there to learn. It's not a pot party. It's to do with education," he said.

This weekend's seminar in Vancouver is sold out, but the Web site lists the seminar's availability moving eastward through Canada throughout the summer.

The site also offers educational services and links for doctors, lawyers and accountants.

Schultz said he plans on opening a permanent classroom in Vancouver this fall.

Medical marijuana is used to stem nausea from chemotherapy, to relieve pain and to treat glaucoma.
