HILLSBOROUGH, N.C., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- More than half of responding U.S. adults admit to having sex in public, with cars being the top location, an Internet survey indicates.

The survey by AdamAndEve.com, a Web site that sells adult products, said respondents who said they had sex in public were allowed to choose multiple answers.

Eighty percent said they had had sex in an automobile, 55 percent said the woods, 44 percent said a park, 42 percent said a beach and 25 percent said a workplace office, 22 percent said public bathrooms, 16 percent said a movie theatre, 7 percent said an airplane, 5 percent said a church and 2 percent said a taxi, the survey said.

Chad Davis, marketing director at Adam & Eve, said the Web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of more than 1,000 U.S. adults age 18 and older was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.

"While I was surprised at the high number of adults who enjoy sex in public, I am pleased that American adults are still finding the thrill in sex by trying new things," Davis said in a statement.
