NEW YORK, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Most women agree with Jennifer Aniston in supporting single women using in vitro fertilization to have a child, a U.S. survey indicates.

Aniston, while promoting her film, "The Switch," about a single woman who conceives a child through artificial insemination, said: "Times have changed and we have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents' days when you can't have children because you have waited too long," People.com reported.

Bill O'Reilly, host of the FNC's "The O'Reilly Factor," criticized Aniston comments as: "Destructive to our society," and accused her of "diminishing the role of the dad."

The survey of 1,936 U.S. women ages 25-45, conducted before the dust up, June 7-14, says 83 percent say they support a single woman using IVF to conceive if she is emotionally and financially able to care for the child.

The survey conducted by Ipsos Reid, for the Barbados Fertility Centre in the Caribbean, which provides IVF at less than half the U.S. cost of $14,000, also says 28 percent of American women aged who are planning to have a child are concerned about their ability to conceive.

"We have seen a sharp increase in patients and inquiries from all backgrounds in the United States, including heterosexual and gay single women and couples, so we wanted to better understand how American women view IVF," Dr. Juliet Skinner, medical director of Barbados Fertility Centre, says in a statement.

The survey has an estimated margin of error of 2.2 percentage points.
