HILLSBOROUGH, N.C., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- When asked who they fantasize about during sex, 37 percent say a friend, a survey of 1,000 U.S. adults indicates.
The survey, commissioned for Adam & Eve, a merchandiser of adult products, says 35 percent say they fantasize about an acquaintance, 34 percent say an ex-partner, 32 percent say a celebrity and 21 percent say a porn star.
Survey respondents could choose more than one answer, but the least favorite object of fantasy by all -- 19 percent -- was a co-worker.
Chad Davis, marketing director for Adam & Eve, says the friend fantasy may not be a bad thing.
"Most adults' sex lives include an aspect of fantasy," Davis says in a statement. "It makes sense that we would draw on images and relationships we are familiar with."
The survey was conducted by an independent third-party survey company. No further survey details were provided.
