OAKLAND, Calif., May 7 (UPI) -- The Clorox Co. says its Clorox Pro Quaternary All-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner kills germs including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA.
A product that is Environmental Protection Agency registered to kill germs, the disinfectant kills both strains of MRSA -- community-associated MRSA and healthcare-associated MRSA -- as well as a variety of other illness-causing germs, such as hepatitis B and C, avian influenza A, HIV-1 and HIV-2, SARS-associated coronavirus, rotavirus, salmonella enterica and E. coli.
This hospital-grade disinfectant is also a powerful cleaner with a no-rinse pH-neutral, bleach- free formula, the Clorox Co. said in a statement.
"This product offers confidence to those professionals who want to help reduce the spread of germs in their environment, particularly those who are vulnerable to a community-associated MRSA outbreak," Jennifer Case of Clorox said in a statement.
