Survey: Women prefer blanket to men

ALBANY, N.Y., March 14 (UPI) -- When it comes to comfort and getting a good night's sleep, men prefer a warm body, but women prefer a warm blanket, a U.S. survey found.

The survey by PrimaLoft, a producer of insulation for bedding and clothing, found men and women have different ideas when it comes to bedtime comfort.

When asked about comfort while sleeping, 29 percent of U.S. women rated human companionship most comfortable compared to 47 percent of the men.

Fifty-three percent of women seeking bedtime comfort reach for the pillows or blankets compared to 32 percent of men.

Neither men nor women like a lot of cold air while sleeping. Cold weather or concerns about safety might be reasons why only 15 percent of U.S. adults feel comfortable with open windows.

The telephone survey of 1,008 U.S. adults was conducted by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media and has a margin of error of plus/minus 3 percentage points.
