SPRING VALLEY, N.Y., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Par Pharmaceuticals said Thursday it is OK'd to market a generic of Pfizer's Dostinex to treat hyperprolactinemic disorders.
Par said the Food and Drug Administration has approved the company's cabergoline tablets, the generic equivalent of Dostinex, for which Par estimated annual U.S. sales at more than $80 million.
The company, located in Spring Valley, N.Y., said it would begin shipping cabergoline tablets immediately.
Par noted that it received approval this year for Megace ES, its first branded pharmaceutical product, and the firm said it expects to launch its second such product in 2006.
