NEW YORK, July 16 (UPI) -- Kevin McEnroe, the son of tennis star John McEnroe and actress Tatum O'Neal, was arrested for drug charges last week in New York.

Officers arrested the 27-year-old July 8 after observing what appeared to be a drug transaction in Manhattan, New York police Sgt. Jessica McRorie said.

Kevin McEnroe was allegedly carrying six plastic bags of what appeared to be cocaine, a Clorazepate anxiety pill, 20 Oxycodone pills, 10 morphine pills and 10 unidentified orange pills.

He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and was released from jail on his own recognizance.

Kevin McEnroe is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 16.
