Genie Francis is returning to 'General Hospital'

LOS ANGELES, April 29 (UPI) -- Genie Francis is returning to General Hospital, the ABC soap's executive producer Frank Valentini tweeted Wednesday.

"Hey #GH fans: I have AWESOME news...@GenieFrancis is coming back to @GeneralHospital !!!" Valentini posted without offering any additional details.

Francis attended last weekend's Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony where her former GH spouse Anthony Geary won the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series trophy.

The actress debuted as the iconic character Laura to Geary's Luke in the 1970s, and she has played the role off and on for decades.
