HBO renews 'Veep' for seventh season

May 26 (UPI) -- HBO has renewed it's award-winning political comedy Veep for a seventh season.

All original cast members including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott,Timothy Simons and Matt Walsh are all set to return for Season 7, Deadline reported.

The contracts of the cast were up after Season 6 with the network moving in to secure new deals that include salary increases.

Veep is currently on its fifth episode of Season 6 as former President of the United States Selina Meyer (Louis-Dreyfus), and her aid Gary (Hale), deal with losing an election.

Louis-Dreyfus celebrated the renewal news on Twitter Thursday writing, Yeah, Veeple, THIS is happening. Get your lovely [expletive] ready. @VeepHBO #more #veep," alongside a logo for Season 7.
