May 26 (UPI) -- HBO says it has renewed Silicon Valley for a fifth season to air in 2018, but co-star T.J. Miller isn't expected to return.

The comedy is set in the "modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success," the network noted in a press release.

Season 4 is to wrap up June 25. Other series regulars include Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Jimmy O. Yang and Suzanne Cryer.

"The producers of Silicon Valley and T.J. Miller have mutually agreed that T.J. will not return for Season 5," HBO said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter Thursday. "In Erlich Bachman, T.J. has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations."
